Hello!
If you'd like the read the ramblings of a photographer on the go you're in the right place..... I'll try and devote as much time to it as Bridget did to her diary.... watch this space!
How to make a spectacular entrance at a wedding….
.... arrive by helicopter!! That's what Matt, my groom from last Sunday's wedding did and he couldn't have picked a clearer bluer sky as the backdrop for his descent into The Lawn in Rochford. Lisa, his bride-to-be, made a more wedding-dress-and-hairdo-friendly entrance and looked picture perfect for the day. Here's some of my favourite images....

A taste of the Thai life…
For all you Thai food lovers out there, the great news is that Manoly's is reopening its doors today (Friday 12 March) after a stunning transformation. Manoly’s has been serving Thai food to the people of Leigh and the surrounding areas for 25 years, but now has a new look - all the way from Thailand. It's taken 10 weeks, and a team of dozens, to completely gut the restaurant, then build a totally new extended dining room, kitchen, bar and toilets.
Manager Mée Wolff explained that despite the intensive makeover and skill of the waiting and kitchen staff, nothing is being left to chance. Mée explained: “We wanted to get the new Manoly off to the right start and enjoy another 25 years of good fortune, so we invited a trio of Buddhist monks to perform a complex and very beautiful traditional blessing ceremony.” So I went along yesterday morning to photograph this ancient ceremony for them, as well as the 'Private Viewing' yesterday evening where the Mayor of Southend, Councillor Brian Smith, performed the official opening.
Take a look at the short video I've put together of some of the images which I think really capture the essence of the place.

There is no better start to a Saturday morning….
.... than a hearty breakfast at The Water's Edge Cafe at The Arches in Westcliff. Steve and his gang down there do a fantastic job and are open throughout the winter as well, so it was great to wrap up warm and take in the views over the Estuary this morning before getting ready for a pre-wedding photoshoot at Leigh Library Gardens. I'm also really excited about the wedding I have booked for tomorrow where my Groom is going to be arriving by helicopter.... 007 eat your heart out!! Watch out for some photos and footage which I'll upload after the weekend.
